LMV-186A 2-Channel AC Millivoltmeter

• Wide Frequency Range
• Calibrated in Millivolts, Volts, dBV and dBm into 600 W
• ± 2% of Full Scale Accuracy
• 100m V Sensitivity
• Amplifier Output Terminals

The LMV-186A is an average responding rms reading ac millivoltmeter applicable to a wide range of general purpose dual channel measurements. The model features high sensitivity of 100 m V and range to 300 V rms maximum full scale with a wide bandwidth of 5 Hz to 500 kHz. Meter scales are conveniently calibrated in millivolts and dB (0 dBV = 1 V and 0 dBm = 0.775 V) with accuracy's to within ± 2% f.s. The meter has concentric dual channel meter movements with separate needles on the analog display and a channel reverse switch. For stereo audio, the LMV-186A is very apt for measuring record and playback levels, channel separation. balance and tracking tests of volume, loudness and tone controls versus frequency, etc.

The flat bandwidth of the amplifier output terminals often permits it to be used as sensitive accurate instrument preamplifier. Other areas of use include test and repair for communications, IF and ultrasonic circuits and systems.

LE1854 CD/CD-ROM Jitter Meter

• Quantified, Repeatable Jitter Measurements
• Increased Accuracy and Throughput
• Objective Readings Free of Interpretation Errors
• Jitter and EFM RF Levels Simultaneously
• Level Meter Shows 3T and 11T Bits and Ratios
• Peak and Sigma-Weighted Jitter Readings
• Polarity Selector for Jitter Referenced to Rising or Falling Transitions to Show Asymmetry
• GO/NO GO judgement with Adjustable Thresholds
• Switchable Speeds. Xl, X8, XI0, X12
• Processing to Correct 3T Asymnmetry Prior to Jitter Measurement

Representing the 3rd generation of CD jitter meters, the LE 1854 extend the range of this powerful performance gauge to meet the needs of rapidly expanding CD applications. Designed for disc mastering, disc production, player production and quality control, the instrument assists in production tuning, optimization and documentation.

RF levels and jitter readings are shown simultaneously with selectors to read 3T and 11T levels of the EFM (eight to fourteen modulation) signal. The sigma s measuring mode displays the amount of jitter error within ? standard deviation of the mean. This produces a near steady state meter reading to facilitate accurate measurements and adjustments. Displayed values are objective and not subject to the kind of interpretation errors experienced when viewing EFM signals on an oscilloscope. The LE 1854 reads jitter in Sigma values only. A polarity selector for jitter references the readings to either the rising (pit-to-land) or the falling (land-to-pit) transitions to show asymmetric differences. Signal processing partially corrects 3T asymmetry to minimize the effect on the jitter reading at higher speeds. In addition to 3T and 11T level readings, a buffered output allows oscilloscope observation of ratio and symmetry.

Of particular value in production and QC operations, the GO/NO GO judgement section provides adjustable thresholds for 3T and 11T peak levels as well as jitter limits. Front panel GO/NO GO indicators are augmented by rear panel outputs for remote indicators or alarms. DC meter analogs are also provided on the rear panel for remote level and jitter indicators.

LE8010 CD/MD Laser Power Meter

• PTwo Dedicated Sensors Provided Standard
• Mini Disc with Embedded Sensor Enhances Repeatability
• Auto-Ranging Between 1 and 10 mW
• 3 1/2 Digit Digital Display

The Model LE 8010 auto-ranging laser power meter comes complete with two standard probes. A thin optical probe is provided for normal measurements. A dedicated optical sensor embedded into a MD disk increases mechanical repeatability enabling quick, accurate measurements. For most MD applications, it is not necessary to remove covers from the unit under test to check for the proper laser output level during playback or record modes of operation. The meter is ideal for measuring laser diode power at 780 nm on both CD player and MD recorder and players.
The 10-milliwatt range enables confirmation of actual laser power during MD record mode. The power meter is auto ranging with a 3 1/2 digit digital display to speed measurements. The unit operates from a standard 9-volt battery and has a low battery indicator.
