Automatic Level Attenuation
Measures Visual and Aural Carriers
8 Internal Channell Tables
PLL Synthesizer Speeds Timing
Monitor Outputs for Sound Checks
Programmable Auto Power Off
12 Hour Continuous Battery Operation
Compact and Less Than 3 lbs. with Batteries

The Model LF 941D TV Signal Level Meter enables fast and accurate measurement of VHF/UHF TV and CATV signals. Auto-detection and level measurements of digital broadcast signals or conventional analog broadcast signals ease operation. Digital measurements include over the air 8VSB, OFDM and cable 16-256 QAM modes. Internal channel tables allow operation in 8 different countries. For US operation cable channel tables are selectable for standard, HRC and IRC systems.
Ten programmable preset channels are provided to store arbitrary frequencies that are commonly used. Presets can be setup for recall of frequently used frequencies, FM broadcast and pilot signals. The large digital display shows digital or analog mode, visual or sound carrier level readouts and bar-graph level indicator for antenna peaking during installation for accurate, optimized measurements.
Automatic power-off is time selectable to save on battery power consumption. Low power consumption yields a continuous 12-hour operation capability from 6 alkaline C cells.
This compact & lightweight level meter, under 3 pounds, is supplied with a carrying case and is ideal for VHF/UHF antenna and CATV installations.

LDR-LF983 TV/CATV/Satellite Level Meter

Covers 8-VSB and COFDM Transmissions

Leader Instruments Corporation announces the release of the LF 983, the latest in Leader’s series of TV/cable/satellite signal level meters. An outstanding attribute of this model is the ability to provide accurate RF level readings for analog and digital broadcasts employing 8-VSB, COFDM, MSK, BPSK, QPSK, 16 to 256 QAM and for satellite BPSK, QPSK, 8PSK modes.

All analog functions of earlier models are retained. Sub-band operation extends coverage from 5 to 46 MHz for VHF/UHF/FM/cable topping out at 870 MHz and satellite I-F coverage 950 to 2150 MHz. Level readings range from -30 to 60 dBmV (-15 to 40 dBmV for satellite) with 0.1 dB resolution and ± 2 dB accuracy. A simple spectrum display for VHF/UHF/FM analog and digital broadcasts now has selectable cursors useful for cable modem testing.Level displays include single channel and multi-channel bargraph displays. Internal memories cover worldwide channel assignments and flash card memory stores 200 observation setups and 200 sets of measured data. Data logging up to 100,000 readings to a standard plug-in flash card simplifies the collection process. Data may be sent to a PC via RS-232C or flash card, and a printer output is provided.Other features include a built-in speaker with video/audio line outputs for sound and picture observations of in the clear analog transmissions. Carrier-to-noise measurements are offered for satellite operations. LNB drive is selectable from +11 to +18 volts for polarization. AC and DC voltmeter measurements are included for cable measurements. Compact, light weight and powered by internal rechargeable batteries (charger and padded carrying case supplied) the LF 983 is a formidable survey tool.
The unit lists at $3,195 and availability is from stock through Leader’s regional sales offices and nationwide distributor network.
